This last weekend our oldest boy went to his first Boy Scout Camp (He advanced from Cub Scouts a few months ago). It was a 11 year old, LDS encampment and they stayed over one night. The Theme was, "Armed With the Truth." They had a local organization come, The Hawk Quest, did BB Guns, Archery, Rocket Launching, leather working, first aid and camping food preparation, whittling and knife and axe sharpening, map and compass, tying knots and lashings, and Captain Moroni's challenge. His patrol name is the Vampire Bats.
Here is their patrol yell:
You'll wake with a scare
When you have a nightmare.
You'll fall with a thud
When we suck your blood.
We are the Vampire Bats!
Go Bats!
He says his favorite part was BB Guns and that the camp food was really yummy. Especially the quesadillas, pancakes and sausage, and pop tarts.
He'll be talking about this camp out for weeks!
