Sorry for the lack of people in the photos but this was a Girl Scout outing and I didn't have permission to post their lovely faces over the web. But they had a good time. So this is at Bridal Veil Falls in Idaho Springs. The Junior Girl Scouts chose to use their cookie money to go up there and stay at the Indian Hot Springs.
The water flowing down Clear Creak was voracious. Perfect for some white water rafting, of which, the girls would like to do next year. So it is nice that they are already beginning to think about what they want to do with their cookie money.
Our family hadn't taken this path that runs right along I-70. So the noise of the cars tends to dull the experience of nature. We have been by this falls many times on our outings up here. We have gone this way not only to explore this town, but also it is the way to Mt. Evans.
There is something interesting to me about looking at a dead tree amongst the green of the living. Like it is still holding on to its presence for as long as possible. A reminder of all that has past its gaze.
The girls got a lot of excitement over seeing the river riders. They bubbled with anticipation of going and doing that themselves. I feel lucky to have such adventurous girl scouts. I find it awesome that I have to take to the boy scout ranch in order to do some archery and BB Guns. They are so cool. Crafty and sporty.
There is the falls itself. Decked out with four American Flags. It was on the other side of the river so we couldn't get much closer.
The view down the river.
